Rev. Enoch Snow- “Celebrating Too Soon”
Text us here! (Leave us your number if you want a response from us!)
The enemy loves to throw a party when things look darkest in our lives. In this soul-stirring message "Celebrating Too Soon," we uncover how Satan frequently declares victory prematurely—not realizing God's redemptive power is already at work behind the scenes.
Drawing from the powerful story of David recovering everything the Amalekites had stolen, we explore the profound truth found in Job 20:5: "the triumphing of the wicked is short." Like those enemies who were eating, drinking, and dancing while David was pursuing them with divine guidance, the forces of darkness often celebrate before the final chapter is written.
Through riveting historical parallels, biblical examples, and modern-day testimonies, we examine three crucial battlegrounds where the enemy celebrates too soon: our sin, our physical bodies, and our deliverance from bondage. From Samson's final victory despite his failures to miraculous healings that defied medical impossibilities, these accounts reveal how God specializes in interrupting hell's parties with divine intervention.
Perhaps most compelling is the personal testimony of generational redemption—how a family line that descended from preachers into gamblers and criminals was dramatically restored through one divine encounter. This powerful illustration demonstrates that no family is beyond God's restorative power, no matter how dark their history.
If you're currently facing what seems like defeat—whether through addiction, illness, family breakdown, or spiritual attack—this message will ignite your faith with the realization that your story isn't over. The enemy may be shouting victory, but he's celebrating too soon. God still has the final word, and your comeback is already in motion. Are you ready to let God prove the devil wrong in your life?

Hey everybody, this is Brother Jacob Bishop from Waynesville, ohio, coming to you on behalf of Holiness Preaching Online. Today we want to present to you another wonderful sermon from a great Pentecostal holiness preacher. So, wherever you are, sit back and prepare to be blessed by the Word of God. Thank you all, and may God keep you and bless you today.
Speaker 2:We'll start reading in verse number 16. Those of you that was here last night, you're familiar with part of the story that happens before this. But while you're turning there, I will just bring you back up to date of where you are in the text. David has been ransacked and Ziklag has been burned with fire. Everything that he has has been taken from him. And as he begins to lament and pray, the people are taking up stones. They're wanting to kill David.
Speaker 2:And David gets a hold of God. How many knows that when you're in trouble, just getting a hold of God can change everything? And David gets a hold of God. How many knows that when you're in trouble, just getting a hold of God can change everything? And David gets a hold of God and God speaks to him and tells him to pursue. And so David starts his journey and as he's coming he comes upon an Egyptian that's lost in a field. And I believe the Lord touched us last night on that text and I'm glad that God can find you in the field, aren't you? Amen. And then we find that they're going right here. They take the Egyptian and the Egyptian takes them to where their belongings are.
Speaker 2:And that's where we'll pick up in verse number 16. It says of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines and out of the land of Judah, and David smoked them from twilight unto the evening of the next day. And there escaped not a man of them save four hundred young men which rode upon camels and fled. And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away. And David rescued his two wives, and there was nothing lacking of them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil nor anything that they had taken to them. David recovered all, and David took all the flock and the herds which they draved before those other cattle and said this is David's spoil. Praise God. I want to look at verse 16. It says they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking and dancing.
Speaker 2:I want to preach tonight on celebrating too soon, celebrating too soon. Lord, thank you for this opportunity to preach your word tonight. I pray that every heart God would be touched in a powerful way and that the Spirit of God would minister to us. Lord, you know every need under this tent and you are able, by the Holy Ghost, to meet them and I'm asking that you would do it by your word and in this altar in Jesus' name, and everybody said amen, praise God, amen In Job.
Speaker 2:The Bible tells us in chapter 20 and verse number 5 that the triumphing of the wicked is short. The triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the wicked is short. The triumphing of the wicked is short and the joy of the hypocrite. But for a moment. He's saying that the enemy, that the wicked, does not have victory for very long. It may seem like they have triumphed, but it's just short-lived. Here is this group of people that have just raided David and taken all that he had that was good, and when David comes upon them, they're eating, they're having a good old barbecue and they're drinking and they're dancing, they're having a party because they feel like they have just triumphed. But what they don't realize is that God is on David's side, praise God, and God has spoken to David. And all the celebration and the partying that's going on was just celebration. That happened too soon, praise God.
Speaker 2:About 50 miles from here, in the year of 1863, it was the Battle of Gettysburg. The armies were coming against each other and General George Meade was the Confederate Army general that day and General Robert Lee was coming against him. General Lee sent about 12,000 men across that field to advance upon the northern armies. And they went and they broke through the front lines and it looked like that the South was winning the war. And, matter of fact, as you've studied and you probably know better than most, that this battle was a great turning point in the Civil War. But when the Confederates broke through that line and they won what looked like a great victory, they started shouting the Yankees are running, the Yankees are running. And it looked like the South was going to win and they took a little reprieve. But what they didn't realize that the yankees were not running, they were bringing back reinforcements and they were setting for another advancement. And because the yankees, the confederates celebrated a little too soon amen, you know the history. Amen that that the battle turned and that General Meade won that battle. And historians say that the battle at Gettysburg and the picking charge that was fought there on Cemetery Hill was a turning point in the war. Amen for the history of America.
Speaker 2:I'm going to tell you, you may have come under this tent and the devil may have been shouting and the devil may have been screaming in your face. It's time for you to run Amen. He may be telling you that you'll never be able to make it or that you can't get right with God, but sometimes the enemy has had a practice of just celebrating a little too soon. Hallelujah, amen. There's three things I want to talk to you about that the devil has celebrated too soon on, and the first thing is sin. Praise God.
Speaker 2:The devil has celebrated too soon about sin. I'm sure that he celebrated when Adam and Eve took that fruit. He hates God. The devil hates God. He hates everything about God and he wants to destroy Him. This was Satan's grand plan to bring down God's creation to the depths of hell. Adam and Eve ate the fruit which made Satan's pipe swell, amen. The poem says he laughed real loud and said I've learned the trick of how to bring men to hell. You lie and deceive and make them think all is well. Then you tempt them with your best until at last they fail, and then you laugh with glee because now they have a place in hell. I'm sure he celebrated when Adam and Eve fell and thought I've won the war. Now men have a trail to hell.
Speaker 1:Praise God.
Speaker 2:I'm sure he celebrated when Cain killed Abel and when Noah got drunk after the flood and when Lot chose the well plain fields of Sodom, when Sodom was the home of Lot. I'm sure he celebrated in that land of Sodomy when Aaron built a golden calf and they danced and played around it, but it was a celebration that was just too soon.
Speaker 2:When Achan stole the garment, the Babylonian garment, and all of his family was destroyed. I'm sure the devil celebrated real well there and thought well, my how my trick is working, my how this is going good for me, I've got the upper hand. I'm sure he thought he celebrated well when Rahab took the name of called a harlot. When David committed adultery, I'm sure he celebrated quite well. But I'd like to show you some stories. Where he just celebrated a little too soon, he ran Samson laid in the lap of Delilah. Where he just celebrated a little too soon. Amen, samson laid in the lap of Delilah. And if you could see in the spiritual world, I'm sure that Satan was celebrating quite well that day. Amen, when he told her all of his heart and sin brought down that man.
Speaker 2:That evening he celebrated, I'm sure, as Samson took the downward spiral Amen, down, down, down. He went until his hair was cut off and the Philistines had him in prison. They plucked his eyes out. I can hear them dancing now. I can hear them shouting Samson is down, samson is down, samson is destroyed. What celebration Satan must have had because of Samson. But he celebrated a little too soon, didn't he Amen. The Bible tells us in Judges 16 and 30, amen, it said, and Samson said amen. It says in verse number 23, amen, the lords of the Philistines gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice unto Dagon, their God, and to rejoice. Listen to that. To rejoice.
Speaker 2:For they said our God hath delivered Samson, our enemy, into our hand. They were celebrating and having a party that day, amen. But they made a mistake and brought Samson out While they were celebrating over sin. Samson was led to two pillars and they celebrated a little too soon Because God gave him strength Over everything that had come against him. I'm going to tell you tonight Sin may be celebrating over you, but it's celebrated a little too soon because you're still alive tonight and there's grace and there's mercy to forgive you. I'd like to tell you one more story where sin celebrated too soon. Go with me in your imagination to this little child that was born. He was a young boy that was born Amen. And some mother and father rejoiced this day. What a great day it was.
Speaker 2:But Satan started planting seeds in his heart Amen. Somehow, someway we don't know the exact story he became a thief, maybe even a murderer in his years, and he would sing to death. Oh, how Satan was happy that day when those Roman crosses were built and his name was stacked to the top, that he was to die. Guilty of his sins was the verdict, guilty to die and every demon that was set to his case for a party that day at Calvary's Hill that their man was going to die. That day they were celebrating.
Speaker 2:I'm sure One man on the other cross began to revile on Jesus, that center cross, that cross in the middle. And this man said Jesus, that center cross, that cross in the middle. And this man said we're guilty, buddy, we deserve to be on here. And I'm sure hell said yes, you are guilty, amen, yes, you're guilty. And two demons gave a high five when he shouted we're guilty, amen. But they celebrated too soon on that hill that day because that man cried out and said Lord, remember me. And hell started trembling and they lost their song that evening. The poem says now, on that day, the cry from the cross was heard.
Speaker 2:Lord, remember me. The celebration for this man's soul was over because his simple plea. The party went quiet, the shouts all ceased because Satan's plot had been overthrown by the great prince of peace. Thank God, amen. The Lord put a stop to the party and he said I've got the last. Oh praise God, amen. The Lord put a stop to the party and he said I've got the last. Say oh praise God.
Speaker 2:I want to tell somebody under this tent that the devil's been telling you it's too late for you to get saved, it's too dark, I've got too great a grip on you and maybe he's even thrown a party. Amen On your behalf, but in the name of Jesus, amen. He celebrated just a little too soon. I said he celebrated a little too soon. The devil thought he had the master plan. The devil thought he had an upper hand. Sin was his tactic. But oh, he'd have never seen it coming when he nailed that middle man to the cross and he celebrated when he died and thought all was lost. But my God, amen, bled and died and gave his soul for humankind. And thank God for Jesus because he made the devil out of our and he celebrated just a little too soon For every one of you that's a drunkard and the devil said you'd die A drunkard.
Speaker 2:Look at you tonight, sober and saved. The devil celebrated too soon. And for the brother that testified last night About being in a field, a drug addict Amen, down in this field. The devil said you'd die drug addict. The devil said you'd never get free. But I just come to glorify our God and tell the enemy you celebrated just a little too soon, because grace has always been greater than sin and where sin abounded, grace did much more abound. I'm glad to tell you that the devil has celebrated too soon. There's no sin that grace can't cover. There's no darkness that light can't bleed through. The devil is defeated. He lost the keys of death, hell and the grave. He celebrated just a little too soon Hallelujah, oh, praise God.
Speaker 2:I want to talk to you about something else that the devil celebrated about. He celebrated about the human body. You see, divine healing is something that the devil hates, because in the curse of sin there was a curse on the body. Amen, we know this by amen, many scriptures throughout the bible where he parallels them two together. Amen, that the body was cursed because of sin and the devil has been trying his best to keep men in bondage in soul and in body. Many have even said that the days of supernatural healings are over. Amen, that we might as well put it in a casket and bury it six feet under the dirt of doubt and say the days of healing are over, the days of miracle are the days past. Amen. I'm sure that hell has tried its best to throw a party of doubt in many men's minds that the days of healing are over. I'd like to interview one lady who had been sick and listening to this party music for 12 long years and she had spent everything that she had on doctors and rather grew worse.
Speaker 2:Your Bible says In my mind, I can hear the voice of the enemy telling her hey man, I've got you exactly where I wanted you. You've spent everything. This is the end. It's over. You're going to die of this disease. It's all gone according to plan, but that day when Jesus was passing by, amen she said, if I can.
Speaker 2:But touch the hem of his garment, I know amen, I shall be whole. And that day, amen the devil celebrated a little too early. He took all the money, he took all of her body's health, but he didn't take her faith. And if you've got faith tonight to reach out and touch him.
Speaker 2:I believe God's still a healer. I said I believe God's still a healer in the house. Praise God, he's still a healer in the house. Praise God, he's still a healer. Just a few months ago we was in Kentucky in a revival and there was a young family there, Brother Jacob Kane, the youth pastor there at that church. Their child had been suffering from an infection in his stomach and he could not get over it. They tried antibiotics and different things, amen, to get him past that infection. Amen.
Speaker 2:That revival night that little baby would just start screaming in the middle of the night, screaming they couldn't do nothing about it In the middle of the service. It was a terrifying thing to watch the look on that little baby's face as they would carry it out screaming. And that little baby, it made you just want to do something about it, made you want to take it. Hey man. They had prayed many times but on that night faith began to arise in that church. I'm a man. That night we began to pray for that little baby. They brought him up there, anointed him with all how hey man, he come back the next night and told me, said he slept all night long. Praise God. I seen him just a few weeks ago.
Speaker 2:And he told me that God had healed that baby and he had no problems. From that time on, I'm telling you, god's still a healer. I know the devil says the days of healings are over, but the devil doesn't have the final say Because our God is Rapha.
Speaker 1:He's the healer.
Speaker 2:And the devil cannot stop it. Praise God, brother Luke Reed, from our church, our home church, was a young man, 13, 14 years old. All of a sudden, brother Luke began to lose weight. He's not very large, but about my size, smaller than me. And he began to lose weight and was pronounced that he had Crohn's disease. Just a little boy you probably know Luke Reed, brother Samuel, amen. That little boy was just going down to nothing, was skinny as could be and was going down to nothing, couldn't eat enough to even maintain his weight. It looked devastating for this young boy Just on a midweek service. He came there to the front and the power of God began to move. I'm sure the devil was saying it's over for you, buddy, it's all over and there's no reason to even try, there's no reason to even go on.
Speaker 2:You say why are you saying that, preacher? Because I know the devil and how he tries to convince people that there's no hope. Amen. Brother Luke came that evening and those gathered around and prayed for him laid his hands on him. He went back to the doctor. He started getting better, went back to the doctor. He started getting better, went back to the doctor. The doctor said they tested him and the Crohn's disease was gone. Because there is a God that brings the devil's plans to naught and what the devil means for evil, god has a miraculous way of turning things for good. Oh praise God. It doesn't matter how long you've been in your situation. God's a healer. There was a man that had been born in this condition Forty years.
Speaker 1:The Bible tells us.
Speaker 2:Forty years he'd been there From his mother's womb. He was in this condition, laid at a gate, called beautiful, they tell me. But Peter and John went up to the temple at the hour of prayer. Forty years the devil had been throwing a party Saying you're never going to get over this sickness, you're never going to get over this illness, you're never going to get over it. Come on now. But he celebrated a little too soon Because amen, john, peter and John said such Come on now, if it's 12 years or 40 years, it's not too far gone for God.
Speaker 2:Because he's able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you could ever ask or think. He's still a healer. I said he's still a healer. Every time the devil's told you that you're too far gone, that you're too late for healing, you let him know he's celebrating a little too soon Because Jesus is still on the throne. He's still a healer. He's the same yesterday, Today and forever. He's a healer tonight he could heal somebody in this tent. No matter if it's a heartache, no matter if it's a sickness, god is a healer. Hallelujah.
Speaker 3:And just for the record's sake.
Speaker 2:I'd like to tell every critic that the devil has put his influence on. He's too late, amen, to tell me that God is not a healer. And if they're celebrating that the days of healing are over, they're celebrating just a little too soon. I said they're celebrating that the days of healing are over. They're celebrating just a little too soon. I said they're celebrating just a little too soon. Praise God.
Speaker 2:I found like telling this story today. I know many of you have heard it multiple times, probably, amen, but let me tell it under this tent, for the glory of God. My mother was playing out in the driveway. At two years old, amen. My grandpa got in his car and was going into town. As he got in his vehicle and began to back up, he said he felt a little bump and so he put it in drive and pulled back forwards. When he got out and he looked behind, what it was that was in the driveway, there laid my mother at two years old Amen. Go with me to Joplin, missouri, where I can take you in the living room with my grandmother, where she would finish telling this story to us tonight. She told me. She said, she said your mother was black and blue all over. There was no light in her. We took her to the hospital and began to ask for people to pray for her. You see, the devil wanted to stop it right there. The devil wanted it to be over and I'm sure he started his celebrating music that it's all going to work out as planned. Praise God, amen.
Speaker 2:They began to pray and seek God. Grandma told me that there was an evangelist that came there somehow. She didn't even know how he got there, but there was an evangelist that was there, she told me. She said the last time I remember seeing your mother, amen was the doctor. When we handed her to him, the doctor started running down the hallway, her head flopping on this side and her legs flopping on the other, and he went screaming down the hall as he ran with your mother in his arms. She said but we began to pray in that living room and seek God, kind of like you and I would If it was our two year old little girl. They began to pray and seek God and grandma told me she said the next thing that I remember Amen Was God. And Grandma told me she said the next thing that I remember amen was hearing something come down the hall. She said, and I turned and looked and in between the hand of the doctor and the evangelist was your mother and she was skipping down the hall. You know why?
Speaker 1:Because God has a way of interrupting the enemy's celebration and saying wait just a minute, I've got another plan.
Speaker 2:And there may be somebody under here that spiritually the devil has built you a casket and has planned your funeral, but under the authority of Jesus Christ, I'd like to tell the devil, you've celebrated just a little too soon, because he's still the resurrection and he's still alive. You may have said preacher, I don't know if I can get out of this. Yes, go listen to the voice of hell listen to the voice of heaven saying I am, I am, I'm exactly what you need.
Speaker 1:If you need bread, he's the bread of life. If you need water, he's living water.
Speaker 2:If you need him on the sun to shine, he's the bright and morning star and he'll tell you. Tonight morning is on its way. Hallelujah, praise God. I believe that hell is celebrating and has tried to throw a party over deliverance and say that the days of deliverance are past. I'm sure the enemy tries to feel like he has spoiled the church and for many churches he has stolen their faith for healing. He has stole their faith for deliverance For many people, just like it was in the story of David, the enemy has come in and stole everything and I believe that the devil amen is rejoicing for every person that he stole their faith In divine healing and in deliverance and in the power of the Holy Ghost. You go back in history and you read of the churches that believed in him.
Speaker 2:I'm sure the devil's having a party over the funds that he stole from the american church, amen. But tonight I come to serve him, notice that he celebrated just a little too soon because the days of revival are not over. The days of miracle are not over the days of deliverance are not over. He still delivers from demon possession.
Speaker 1:He still delivers from drugs and alcohol.
Speaker 2:He still delivers from immoral lifestyles. He still delivers the things that have you bound. There is no witch. Amen. There is no demon that can hold down the power of God, because he's greater, and greater is he that is within me than he that's in the world. I know the spirit of the antichrist is working and he's throwing a party, but God, come to show up on a Friday night at Temple Bible and say you've celebrated a little too soon, because I'm still king of kings and I'm lord of lords I'm still the almighty.
Speaker 2:There's nothing that's too high for our god. If you need deliverance in your mind, he's a mind regulator.
Speaker 1:He can heal your mind if you need healing in your body, he can heal your body tonight.
Speaker 2:He's that kind of guy is there anybody that knows jesus tonight. I said is there anybody that knows Jesus tonight? I said, is there anybody that knows Jesus and has found him? Amen To interrupt the devil's celebration.
Speaker 1:And say wait just a minute, you celebrated a little too soon.
Speaker 2:I feel like I'm preaching to somebody Like the devil said it's over. But I want to introduce him to the great I am that kicks the door off of the tomb and says, come out.
Speaker 1:Lazarus.
Speaker 2:When he's been in there four days, and when the devil said I got Lazarus dead. And then he celebrated four long days. But he celebrated four days too soon, because Jesus has a way of making the devil's plans backfire. Hallelujah, praise God. Hallelujah, praise God, hallelujah.
Speaker 2:A woman possessed with the spirit of divination In Acts, chapter number 16,. She had been so celebrated by the enemy that people were making money off of her witchery. Amen, they were making money off of her. And she was going around, following Paul and Silas, and she was saying some good things, but the spirit was constricting and fighting against them. But guess what? There was a deliverance that was coming, and for every time, that woman would bring in money to her masters and those masters would celebrate yes, we've made a good paycheck, yes, we've got other souls in the grip of hell. They celebrated a little too soon, didn't they? And then, because Paul, being grieved in the spirit, turned and said I adjure thee in the name of Jesus Christ, I command you to come out of her. And the Bible says it came out that same hour. I'd like to come out of her and the Bible says it came out that same hour.
Speaker 2:I'd like to just testify Amen for the woman that was delivered Devil, you celebrated a little too soon and for the poor lady that for 18 years had been bowed over what the Bible says was a spirit of infirmity. 18 years held, threw a party. And since we held her another year, hell said we held her one more year and they threw a party and celebrated all the goods that they had stole from her. But on that day, when the master walked in the synagogue, he seen a woman, amen, that the devil had been celebrating over. Oh God, you know what I feel? I'm going to preach to you right now? There's some of you. The devil's been celebrating over you.
Speaker 1:He celebrated how he busted up your family.
Speaker 2:He celebrated every time you got drunk, he celebrated every time the devil tore him into your mind. But in the name of Jesus, he can come tonight and tell the enemy. You're celebrating just a little too soon, because when the great I am shows up, there's nothing that he can't do. He showed up that day and the celebration was over.
Speaker 1:I said the celebration was over. He said woman, thou art loose from thine infirmity.
Speaker 2:I'd like for him to say devil, the celebration is over, you've celebrated long enough. Hallelujah, raise your hands and give God praise here tonight as they come and help us on the music tonight. Praise God, praise God, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, amen. Many years ago there was a lady by the name of Elizabeth, if I'm right. Brother Samuel came over on the Mayflower, amen. She became a snow and had several children. They were known as the preachers and I have a heritage in America of godly people. But when you follow our family tree it turns a little darker, it turns a little bitter, and we stopped being preachers and started being gamblers and started being hustlers and it looks like we even started being murderers. Come on now, amen. There's a good chance.
Speaker 2:Our great-grandpa caused a lot of havoc in the hills of Oklahoma and I'm sure that the devil said what a party we're having. The Snow family is wrecked and ruined. They're not known as preachers anymore. They're known as gamblers. They're not known as prayer warriors anymore. They're known as wicked Amen. They're not known as prayer warriors anymore. They're known as wicked Amen, people that do evil things. But one day, when my grandpa was headed to a saloon. Amen, the Holy Ghost pricked his heart and dealt with him, and my grandpa went to an old breast harbor, amen, and something very similar to probably what this is right here, amen. Not long after that, he gave his heart and his life to God. Oh, hallelujah, I come to tell the enemy you celebrated a little too soon when you said God couldn't save another snow.
Speaker 1:You celebrated a little too soon.
Speaker 2:When you said you had stowed them and they wouldn't ever preach again, and when there's another generation of snow preachers that are rising up and I've just come to tell the devil you celebrated a little too soon, and for every family that's been wrecked and run by drugs, and the devil said it's over.
Speaker 2:You'll never outlive it. I've come to preach on this night. You've celebrated just a little too soon Because God showed up and said I've got the final say, I've got the final word. He's got the final word over your life. I don't know what you're coming here basing and I don't know what the devil coming here shouting about, but he's shouting just a little too soon Because God is greater. I said God is greater and no weapon that's going against me, sound past the line. Because the devil may shout, but he's shouting too soon when God's still on the throne. Somebody ought to praise him in this house, if you know the kind of God that I'm talking about. Somebody ought to worship him.
Speaker 2:The devil said listen, Tabernacle, it's closing down. Listen, tabernacle, it's not going to make it. But I come to declare that he's celebrating Just a little too soon. And the devil said the homeless people are going down the stile, the homeless people are going down. I come to tell him he's celebrating just a little too soon Because there's an army. That's why he's in love. There's a people and the people that you love, my God shall be strong and do it for us. Somebody, raise your hands, raise your hands, raise your hands. Raise your hands, raise your hands. Raise your hands, raise your hands.
Speaker 2:Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands. Raise your hands Raise. If you'd just like to, let the enemy know you've been celebrating too soon. I want you to step out right now. Come up to this altar.
